Indiana arrives undefeated at 8-0 and firmly in control of its destiny this season. The Hoosiers' average margin of victory and point differential have placed the team among the elite in the country. If the Hoosiers can continue rolling, they can inch closer to a spot in the Big Ten title game where they would presumably take on Ohio State.
Maryland is limping into this game, having dropped its last three games. All three of those losses came by four points or less and the Terrapins will try to end that losing streak by pulling off one of the biggest upsets of the season in college football.
Indiana signal-caller Fernando Mendoza is putting together a Heisman-caliber season. He has thrown for 1,923 yards and has 27 total touchdowns through the air and ground. He has consistently put up strong numbers and leads an offense averaging 45.4 points per game.
Maryland quarterback Malik Washington has been efficient this season. He has 1,716 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and three interceptions. But his team’s rushing game ranks among the worst in the Big Ten, making the task ahead far tougher against Indiana’s stout defense.
