North Texas vs Charlotte Pick & Prediction - 10/24/2025

The North Texas Mean Green will take on the Charlotte 49ers in college football action on Friday night. The Mean Green come into this game with one of the best offenses in college football. They will try to keep things rolling on that side of the ball against the struggling 49ers. Before this matchup kicks off in the American Athletic Conference, continue reading to get my North Texas vs Charlotte prediction for Friday's game.
North Texas’ offense is humming. The Mean Green rank first nationally in scoring at about 45 points per game. Charlotte’s offense has been anemic, averaging only about 17.1 points per contest. On the defensive side, Charlotte ranks near the bottom of the country in points allowed and struggles to force turnovers. North Texas has forced 17 turnovers this season and rank first in the country in that department.
North Texas bounced back from its first loss of the season in their last game. They enjoyed a dominant 55-17 showing against UTSA to improve to 6-1 on the season. Charlotte has lost four straight games and appears to be moving in the wrong direction both offensively and defensively.
The key to North Texas’ success has been the play of quarterback Drew Mestemaker. He has thrown 17 touchdowns against only three interceptions this season and is operating in an offense that spreads the ball around efficiently and executes at a high level. His receivers like Wyatt Young and Miles Coleman give him weapons all over the field.
Grayson Loftis started at quarterback in Charlotte's last game, a 49-14 loss at home to Temple. Loftis barely broke 100 passing yards in that game and he will need to be demonstrably better if Charlotte is going to compete here.
Score Projection: North Texas 48 – Charlotte 13
Win Probability: North Texas 90%, Charlotte 10%
We could be in for a beatdown in this matchup between North Texas and Charlotte on Friday night. The 49ers have been dreadful on both sides of the ball lately. I expect more of the same against a North Texas team that should punish the 49ers through the air early and often here. I'll lay the points with North Texas, as they should improve to 7-1 on the season and 3-1 in AAC play.
