Southern Miss is off to a respectable 4-2 start this season and they will try to move to within a victory of locking up a bowl bid here. Southern Miss relies on senior Braylon Braxton at quarterback. He has thrown for 1,473 yards on 128-of-196 attempts with 13 touchdowns and just three interceptions. He has been efficient and careful with the ball and will try to avoid putting the ball in harm's way here as well. The Golden Eagles have supplemented Braxton with a strong running game. Their rushing attack is led by Jeffery Pittman, who is averaging 4.7 yards per carry and has six touchdowns.
Louisiana is without Walker Howard and will try to bridge the gap with Lunch Winfield as his replacement. Winfield completed 14 of his 28 pass attempts for 243 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in Louisiana's loss to James Madison last time out.

This looks like a favorable spot for Southern Miss. The quarterback situation for Louisiana is a big reason for that, as the Golden Eagles have superior continuity at the most important position on the field going into this game. I will lay the points with Southern Miss, as they should be able to get a win here to move to 5-2 and 3-0 in the Sun Belt.
