Tulsa vs East Carolina Pick & Prediction - 10/16/2025

East Carolina will host Tulsa in American Athletic Conference play on Thursday night. Both teams were defeated by elite AAC teams in their last games and will try to get back into the win column in this matchup from Greenville. Here, I break down the only game on the college football schedule on Thursday and make my Tulsa vs East Carolina prediction.
Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|
ECU −17 | ECU −1000 / Tulsa +600 | 54.5 |
On the Tulsa side, they have alternated quarterbacks this season between Kirk Francis and Baylor Hayes. They have combined for only seven passing touchdowns through six games. Their passing game ranks outside the top 100 in both passing and rushing-based efficiency metrics, a problem that has only become worse over the last couple of weeks.
ECU’s Katin Houser has been more consistent. Through six games, he has thrown eight touchdowns against four interceptions. Houser has thrown for 1,689 yards going into this contest and he will try to put up another big passing number at home against the Golden Hurricane.
Score Projection: Tulsa 24 — East Carolina 38
Win Probability: East Carolina 87%, Tulsa 13%
East Carolina should have no problem winning this game at home to get to 4-3 on the season. But I am going to take the points with Tulsa in this contest from Greenville. The Golden Hurricane have a ton of problems on offense, but their defense has been respectable for the most part this year. I think they will do just enough to keep this one within a couple of possessions.
