Arizona State (6–3) returns from a bye week ready to defend its home turf and stay in the Big 12 title race. West Virginia (4–6) is riding a two-game winning streak as it fights for bowl eligibility. Arizona State looks to maintain its momentum after a bye week. The Sun Devils won on the road over Iowa State in their last game and they will try to get to 5-2 in the Big 12 with a win here. West Virginia’s recent two-game winning streak is the sign of a team that has begun to stabilize things after a rough start to the year. The Mountaineers still need to win out to reach bowl eligibility, making this one a must-win game for them.
Arizona State is playing for its life in the race to make the Big 12 title game. A win here would move Arizona State to within one game of Texas Tech in the conference standings. The Sun Devils need to keep winning and get plenty of help from the teams ahead of them, but they are certainly still alive in the race for the top two in this conference.
Scotty Fox Jr. is quietly becoming the heartbeat of the West Virginia offense. In his most recent game, he threw for 202 yards, ran for 72, and contributed a touchdown. His dual-threat nature will be critical if WVU is going to keep up with Arizona State. Jeff Sims anchors Arizona State's offense, but the real damage comes when he tucks the ball and runs. His mobility poses a constant threat. If ASU can lean into his mobility early, they can control the time of possession battle and wear down WVU’s defense.

Arizona State is the stronger team on paper, especially in Tempe, and the current line reflects that. While West Virginia is playing better football of late, their margin for error is slim. Unless something breaks spectacularly in their favor, they’re unlikely to cover. I will lay the points with Arizona State as they keep their conference title hopes alive for another week.
