The Los Angeles Dodgers will face the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series on Monday night. The Dodgers are looking to get back to the World Series after winning the title last year. But the Brewers are the top seed in the National League and will try to continue their dominance of the Dodgers this season. Here, I break down this series opener and give you my Dodgers vs Brewers Game 1 prediction.
The Dodgers are sending Blake Snell to the mound. He has been excellent in the postseason, allowing just two earned runs over 13 innings so far while striking out 18. This will be his chance to set the tone for this series for his team. The Brewers have not announced a starter, but reports suggest they may use an opener and then hand over the bulk of the innings to a long reliever. Milwaukee’s bullpen depth is a strength, but asking a non-traditional starter to keep pace with Snell is risky.

The Brewers have proven time and time again that they are more than capable of beating the LA Dodgers this season. Milwaukee is undefeated against Los Angeles this year and the Brewers should keep it that way at home in Game 1 of this series. The Brewers' bullpen should continue to hold up well against LA's dangerous lineup, and I'll take the Brewers as a home underdog to open this best-of-seven series.
