The Chicago Cubs will host the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 4 of the NLDS on Thursday night. The Cubs are fighting to stay alive and force a Game 5, while the Brewers are trying to close out the series on the road. Chicago avoided elimination with a 4-3 win in Game 3 on Wednesday, but the Cubs are far from safe in this series still. Neither team has revealed its starter publicly at the time of this writing. That leaves us with uncertainty but also the expectation that both bullpens will feature prominently in this contest. That could work to the benefit of the Brewers, who have the best bullpen ERA of any team in the postseason at 0.50.
Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich, and Brice Turang are going to have to carry the weight offensively for the Brewers if they want to close this series out on Thursday night. Michael Busch is having a huge series for Chicago, and Pete Crow-Armstrong came through with a two-run single in Game 3 as well. Both bullpens and those offensive players will have a huge impact on which of these teams gets a victory in this contest.

The home team has dominated the proceedings in this series thus far. But I think we could see that change in Game 4. That is especially true if we see a huge share of the pitching done by each bullpen. The Brewers have a superior group of relief pitchers and that could very well set them apart, even in the hostile environment that is Wrigley Field.
Game 4 looks like it is going to be a tight, low-scoring contest. My best bet is for the Brewers to win on the road to clinch this series and set up an NLCS against the winner of the series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies, which the Dodgers lead coming into Thursday's play.
