The Texas Rangers and Minnesota Twins will close out their three-game set on Thursday in Arlington. Both clubs are out of postseason contention and playing for pride in the final week of the regular season. The Rangers snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the Twins on Wednesday. Here, we look at Thursday's series finale between these teams and I bring you my Twins vs Rangers prediction.
Tyler Mahle has been a great story this season for the Rangers. He is 6-3 on the year with a 2.20 ERA, 62 strikeouts, and a 1.13 WHIP. At home, he’s been especially tough for opposing lineups to solve. In nine home starts, his ERA is a stingy 0.74.
Minnesota's Bailey Ober has had a rough season and enters with a 5.32 ERA. Ober has posted a 7.32 ERA over his four prior appearances against the Rangers. Ober has allowed 30 home runs this season, as he has struggled to locate pitches as consistently as you'd like to see.
The Rangers had endured an 8-game losing streak before pulling off a 4–2 win on Wednesday. Minnesota's two-game winning streak was snapped with their loss to Texas in their last outing.

I expect the Texas Rangers to get their second win in a row by defeating the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. The Rangers have a sizable advantage when it comes to starting pitching, as I rate Mahle much higher than I do Ober. Texas shold grab the lead early against Ober and hold onto that lead through their superior bullpen. My best bet for this contest is for Texas to pick up the win at home.
