The Green Bay Packers and New York Giants will meet in Week 11 of the NFL season in East Rutherford. The Giants are playing their first game since firing their head coach and they will be using their third-string quarterback when doing so. They will try to upset a Packers team trying to get a win in a huge spot during the NFC playoff hunt. Here, I've broken down this matchup and you can find my Packers vs Giants prediction below.
The Giants are reeling going into this contest. They enter this game with a 2-8 record and just dismissed head coach Brian Daboll. They have named offensive coordinator Mike Kafka as interim head coach. That storyline alone implies significant organizational disruption. New York also suffered the loss of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart due to a concussion. They will turn to veteran Jameis Winston under center. It will be interesting to see how the Giants look with Winston out there.
The Packers are 5-3-1 and still firmly in the playoff chase in the NFC. But they are coming off two straight losses, including a 10-7 defeat at home to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. Their offense has been inconsistent, but the defense has held up reasonably well. Facing a Giants team in chaos offers a timely opportunity to get back on track. But the Packers will have to overcome a short prep week to win here.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love has shown improvement this season, throwing for over 2,200 yards with 13 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions through nine games. The Packers have scored just 10 points per game over their last two games and Love must step up to help them score more this week.
The key for Winston going into this game will be avoiding turnovers. Winston has a documented history of throwing interceptions throughout his career. The Giants will only have a chance in this game if Winston can take care of the ball.

Jameis Winston is back on an NFL field, which could be entertaining and could also be disastrous for the Giants. My best bet for this game is for the over to hit. Green Bay should score on the struggling Giants defense in this contest. Winston will be able to move the ball through the air late when the Giants are playing catch-up. That will push this game just over the total in New Jersey.
