New Orleans enters off consecutive wins and as a modest favorite at home, while the Jets have struggled on the road and are looking to snap a two-game losing streak. Despite underwhelming records, both clubs have been involved in some pretty entertaining football games of late. The Saints have shown flashes of competitiveness, riding a two‑game winning streak into this matchup and trying to build some late‑season momentum under head coach Dennis Allen. New Orleans’ offense has struggled to generate points consistently, ranking near the bottom of the league in scoring, but it has shown some signs of life with Tyler Shough under center.
Meanwhile, the Jets are mired in a long stretch without playoff football and they own one of the league’s worst defenses this season. They are surrendering big plays and points at an alarming clip and will try to slow down the Saints to change that. New York’s quarterback situation remains unsettled, and the Jets have a lot of questions to answer as they head toward the end of this season.
Quarterback uncertainty looms large for the Jets. Rookie Brady Cook has seen action due to injuries to Tyrod Taylor and Justin Fields, but the Jets have struggled to win games no matter who has lined up under center. Head coach Aaron Glenn has not committed to a starter for Week 16, leaving bettors with a degree of uncertainty regarding their offensive rhythm and production.
On the Saints’ side, Tyler Shough has seen significant playing time and shown signs of progress, helping the Saints to upset the Carolina Panthers last week. While neither signal‑caller projects to light up the scoreboard, Shough’s relative stability gives New Orleans an edge under center.

The Jets have struggled mightily on defense in recent weeks, allowing 82 points in their last two losses against the Dolphins and Jaguars. Shough and the Saints aren't likely to serve the Jets another 40-burger, but I do think that the Saints will win this game and cover the spread at home by scoring into the high 20s or low 30s at home.
