Seattle Seahawks vs Washington Commanders Prediction - 11/2/2025

The Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders will play on Sunday Night Football in Week 9 of the NFL season. These teams are moving in opposite directions in recent weeks, with the Seahawks on a winning streak and the Commanders dropping several games in a row. Before kickoff on Sunday night, keep reading to get my Seahawks vs Commanders prediction from Washington.
Seattle comes off a bye and sits at 5‑2. They have earned wins in five of their last six games to keep themselves in a tie for first place in the NFC West. The Commanders have dropped three straight and four of their last five. But Washington should have Jayden Daniels back under center for this game after he missed some time due to injury and that could help them to turn things around.
Washington’s injury woes are not completely gone with Daniels back under center. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin is confirmed out with a quad injury. That could prevent Daniels from being effective even if he is close to 100%.
The Commanders are a desperate team going into this game. They are in third place in the NFC East and are in danger of missing the playoffs after making the NFC Championship Game last season. Whether that desperation turns into consistent execution remains to be seen.
Seattle’s Sam Darnold has been solid as the team's starting quarterback this year. Darnold has thrown for 1,754 yards, 12 touchdowns, and four interceptions. Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith‑Njigba is already at 819 receiving yards in seven games and he is Darnold's top target.
Daniels is expected to play this week for the Commanders. He will send Marcus Mariota back to the bench. Daniels has eight touchdown passes and just one interception. He needs to remain healthy for the Commanders to turn their season around.
Score Projection: Seahawks 24 – Commanders 23
Win Probability: Seahawks 53% | Commanders 47%
We should see a much more competitive version of the Commanders with Jayden Daniels back at quarterback. I have been impressed with the Seahawks this year and think they could get a road win on Sunday night. But my best bet for this game is for the Commanders to cover the spread as three-point underdogs. Both offenses should move the ball effectively through the air and I could see this game being decided by the slimmest of margins in primetime.
