They will try to do so against a promising young Blackhawks team that is in the midst of a long road trip. Calgary comes into this game at 4‑9‑2 after a rough start. They have won two in a row over the Columbus Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers. They allowed one goal in each of those two games and their defense will try to continue stepping up in this contest. Chicago is 6‑5‑3 and snapped a three-game losing streak by beating the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. This is the fifth straight road game for the Blackhawks.
Dustin Wolf is the likely starter for the Flames in this game. Calgary allows 3.2 goals per game and Wolf's 3.19 GAA is a big reason for those struggles in the defensive zone.
