The Pittsburgh Penguins and Anaheim Ducks will meet in Anaheim on Tuesday night. The Ducks split their first two games of the road on the season and will try to get a win in their home opener against a Penguins team that will try to move to 2-0 on the road for the year. Pittsburgh enters this game at 2–1–0. They kicked off their season with a 3-0 shutout over the Rangers. They followed that up with a 4–3 win over the Islanders before being thumped 6–1 by the Rangers in their last game. The Ducks are 1–1–0 through two games. They dropped their opener but responded with a wild 7–6 overtime win over the San Jose Sharks. The question will be whether or not the Ducks can build on that dramatic comeback win.
Pittsburgh introduced Arturs Silovs in their opener, and he made a statement with a 25-save shutout. But he also gave up six goals in their loss to the Rangers. Consistency will be key if he continues to start. For Anaheim, Petr Mrazek got the nod in their high-scoring win and made 17 saves. But the Ducks defense has been porous and Mrazek likely will face plenty of pressure again in this contest.
Chris Kreider and Cutter Gauthier each scored twice in the Ducks' win over San Jose. Leo Carlsson added a goal and two assists and Mason McTavish had three assists. For Pittsburgh, Justin Brazeau had two goals in his debut, and Evgeni Malkin has continued to be a reliable playmaking presence.

I like the idea of backing the Ducks at home in this game. Anaheim's defense has been terrible at times early in the season. But they should be able to score against a Pittsburgh team that has shown plenty of defensive cracks of their own. I'll take Anaheim as a slight favorite at home in what should be a high-scoring game from California.
