The Montreal Canadiens will host the Seattle Kraken in NHL action on Tuesday night. Both of these teams enter this contest on two-game winning streaks. But only one of them can get a third win in a row in this inter-conference matchup. Which team will get the job done in Montreal? I attempt to answer that question by making my Kraken vs Canadiens prediction below.
Seattle’s goaltending has been a major strength. Joey Daccord has posted a 0.96 goals-against average and a 0.968 save percentage in two starts. He’s locking down opposing attacks and giving Seattle a foundation to build on. Montreal’s Sam Montembault has split his first two games in goal, going 1-1 with a 2.56 GAA. He will look for a second win in a row here.
Nick Suzuki leads the Habs with five assists and has been a playmaking force. Zack Bolduc is up to three goals to lead the Canadiens. Montreal’s power play is hovering around 20% and they will try to make an impact with a man advantage when those opportunities arrive in this game.
McCann and Beniers are leading the Seattle attack, with McCann scoring two goals on six shots. However, Seattle is without Kaapo Kakko due to a broken hand and missing defenseman Ryker Evans for 6–8 weeks. Those are significant hits to their depth heading into this matchup.

Montreal should have the edge going into this game. Both of these teams have played well so far this season, but I think that the Habs playing at home for the first time and the Kraken hitting the road for the first time will work in Montreal's favor here. I'll take the Habs to get a third straight win here and for them to end the undefeated start to the season for Seattle.
