The Blackhawks have won two games in a row coming into this matchup and will try to get a third straight win here against a Canucks team that is playing for the second night in a row. Vancouver enters this game off a win on Thursday night. They rallied from a two-goal first–period deficit to beat the Dallas Stars 5–3. Their offense been balanced, with contributions from several contributors. Vancouver has split its first two games of the season and they will try to get back above the .500 mark for the season with a victory.
Chicago is coming off a lopsided 8–3 win over the St. Louis Blues, with Lukas Reichel lighting up the scoresheet. The Blackhawks have grabbed two straight wins after losing their first three games. Now the Blackhawks have a chance to even their record and continue what has been a surprisingly competitive start to their season.
Vancouver’s starter is Thatcher Demko, whose early-season stat line is solid. He has two wins, one loss, a GAA of 2.03, and a .929 save percentage. But we could see backup goaltender Kevin Lankinen on the second night of a back-to-back here. Chicago will likely go with Spencer Knight in goal. He owns a 2.35 GAA and .920 SV% across three starts. How the Canucks handle their goaltending situation could decide the outcome of this matchup.
Quinn Hughes continues to cement his legacy with the Canucks, having just become the franchise leader in points by a defenseman (410). Brock Boeser is always a threat to score. The addition of Evander Kane adds veteran scoring punch and Kane added an assist for the Canucks last night.
Chicago leans heavily on its rising stars. Connor Bedard’s touch and shooting ability are electric. Lukas Reichel is developing chemistry and finishing ability with his teammates. Frank Nazar and Teuvo Teravainen supply fairly consistent secondary scoring ability.

We should see another tight game involving the Canucks tonight. But the Blackhawks should have the edge, especially with the Canucks being at a rest disadvantage after playing last night. I'll take Chicago to win this game as moneyline underdogs at home in what should be an interesting game from the Windy City.
