Ball State (4–5, 3–2 MAC) is perfect at home this year and can move to within one game of both bowl eligibility and first place in the MAC standings. One major storyline in this game is Eastern Michigan’s road woes. The Eagles are still looking for their first road win of the season, having dropped all of their away games. Ball State is unbeaten at home this year (4–0) and their dominance in Muncie could help them get to .500 after this contest. But Eastern Michigan is a slight favorite despite all of that, which is interesting.
The Eagles rank among the best in both the MAC and nationally in red-zone conversion rate. Their efficiency in scoring range could give them an edge in this game, given how close this contest is expected to be.
But Ball State’s defense brings a serious disruptor in senior defensive end Nathan Voorhis. Voorhis has racked up 11 sacks this season. His presence could be very valuable in derailing Eastern Michigan’s passing game and slowing the Eagles down in the red zone.
The Eagles’ offense is anchored by Noah Kim. Kim has thrown for 2,261 yards this season with 15 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He completes 61.7% of his passes. This is an interesting clash of styles between the two quarterbacks.

This is going to be a close game throughout in Muncie. I'm going to take Ball State to get the job done on their home turf here. The Cardinals haven't lost at home this season and Eastern Michigan has yet to grab a road win. I'll gladly take the home underdog with those trends in mind.
