UTSA Roadrunners vs Charlotte 49ers Prediction - 11/15/2025

The UTSA Roadrunners (4–5) head into Charlotte (1–8) on Saturday looking to pick up a key conference win. UTSA has plenty of offensive firepower this season, but they have struggled on the road. Charlotte is winless in American Athletic Conference play and will try to get their first AAC win of the year in this matchup. Before kickoff from North Carolina, you can find my UTSA vs Charlotte prediction below.
Pick: Over 58.5
Confidence: ★★★★☆
Offensive edge for UTSA: UTSA rolls into this game with one of the more efficient offenses in the AAC, averaging 32.8 points per game. Their offense is balanced and capable of stretching the field, particularly through the air. Charlotte’s defense has been porous, allowing 38.4 points per game. That is one of the worst numbers in the country this season.
Charlotte’s desperation: With a 1–8 record, Charlotte is simply playing for pride at this point. Their offense ranks near the bottom of the FBS, averaging just 18 points per game. Their turnover issues have been compounded by a weak defense. They will try to simply build some confidence by playing better football in this game.
UTSA’s road struggles: While UTSA is a big favorite, they have had trouble winning on the road. Their recent loss at South Florida was particularly rough, as they gave up 55 points and committed costly turnovers. That said, the 49ers may not be the type of team that can fully exploit those road issues.
UTSA’s offense features Owen McCown. He has thrown for 1,880 yards this season with 18 touchdowns and just 5 interceptions. McCown is completing 67.5% of his passes. His ability to distribute the ball and make big plays will be central to UTSA’s success.
Grayson Loftis is the quarterback for Charlotte. He played well in a loss to East Carolina in the 49ers' last game. Loftis threw for 279 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception in that contest. Another productive game from Loftis could help Charlotte compete in this game.
My best bet for this game is for UTSA and Charlotte to combine to go over the total in North Carolina. UTSA's offense is explosive and should tear up a bad 49ers defense. But the UTSA defense isn't anything special either. Charlotte should do just enough scoring to help this game get over the number in American Athletic Conference play.
