Temple vs Army Pick & Prediction - 11/8/2025

Temple and Army will meet in an important game for both teams on the gridiron on Saturday. The Black Knights and Owls both have four losses on the season entering this game. That means they are running out of room for error in their hunt for bowl eligibility. Here, I take a closer look at this game and make my Temple vs Army prediction.
Temple is playing well under first-year coach K.C. Keeler. They have a 5-4 record and are just one win away from bowl eligibility for the first time in years. Quarterback Evan Simon has thrown 21 touchdowns to just one interception this season. He will look to continue playing at a high level this week. But the Owls’ defense has been battered lately. They surrendered 45 points and over 600 yards in a recent 45-14 home loss to East Carolina. They need to be solid on defense against the option offense of Army.
Army has a simple but effective formula. They run the triple-option and play disciplined defense. Quarterback Cale Hellums has rushed for 711 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. Army averages over 265 rushing yards per game this season and allows just over 23 points per game on defense. They got a 20-17 win over Air Force in their last game and will need to be that good on defense again to win at home.
Evan Simon’s efficiency and ability to avoid turnovers make him one of the most reliable quarterbacks in the American Athletic Conference. His 21:1 TD-to-INT ratio is elite and gives Temple a legitimate aerial threat to complement their run game. Hellums isn’t a traditional passer but thrives in the run-heavy system at Army. His ability to run and the physicality of the Black Knights up front are tough for most teams outside of the power four to deal with.
Score Projection: Army 24 – Temple 21
Win Probability: Army 68%, Temple 32%
I'm going to take the points with Temple in this game from upstate New York. The Black Knights aren't a team that is built for winning by huge margins. We should see this game be close until the very end. And while I expect the Black Knights to get a win and improve to 5-4 on the season, I think that the margin will be under a touchdown.
