UTEP vs Kennesaw State Pick & Prediction - 10/28/2025

The UTEP Miners and Kennesaw State Owls will open up the college football slate in Week 10 with Conference USA action. Kennesaw State is 5-2 in just their second season of FBS football and is unbeaten in CUSA play. They will try to keep it that way against a UTEP team that has struggled for the majority of this year. Before kickoff from Kennesaw, continue reading for my UTEP vs Kennesaw State prediction.
Kennesaw State enters this game at 5-2 overall and unbeaten in conference play at 3-0. They have shown continued improvement and are building confidence early in their time as an FBS program. UTEP comes into this game at 2-5 and has been inconsistent on both sides of the ball. Kennesaw State would become bowl eligible for the first time ever with a win here and would love to get that done at home.
UTEP won the only prior encounter between these programs, winning 43-35 in double overtime on November 9, 2024. But the Owls look like a completely different team than they did a season ago and they will try to even up the all-time series between these two schools with a win in this game.
UTEP quarterback Skyler Locklear appears to be regaining form after a recent start in which he completed 21-of-26 passes for 236 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in a 35-17 road win at Sam Houston. He will try to be efficient through the air again in this game to give his team a chance at pulling off an upset on the road.
Kennesaw State’s quarterback situation currently centers around Amari Odom. Odom has thrown for just under 1,000 yards this season, with five touchdown passes and just one interception. He will try to deliver his team a victory that will go down in program history tonight.
Kennesaw State should get a win at home in this contest to get to six wins and earn bowl eligibility for the first time in their brief FBS history. But I do think that we could be in for a closer game than the oddsmakers are anticipating. I'm going to take the points with the Miners in this game, as they should keep things within a touchdown or so while trying to ruin the celebration for the Owls in Week 10.
