The Denver Broncos will take on the Houston Texans in Week 9 of the NFL season on Sunday afternoon. The Broncos come into this game on a five-game winning streak and they will try to keep that streak alive against a Texans team that has won three of its last four games. The Broncos’ defense continues to stand out this season. They rank among the top five in the NFL in yards allowed and points allowed per game. Houston’s offensive line has struggled in both run and pass block win rates, giving Denver’s pass rush a clear opportunity to dominate this game. But the Texans have improved of late, winning three of their last four games themselves.
Denver has found a rhythm offensively over their last two games. They have scored 77 points in the last two weeks against the Giants and Cowboys. They will try to replicate those performances this week against a Texans defense that is tougher to breach than the defenses of New York and Dallas.
Houston's defense was excellent last week, holding the San Francisco 49ers to just 15 points. If they can repeat that performance in this game, they could very well get back to the .500 mark after their disastrous start to the year.
Bo Nix is playing at a very high level for the Broncos this season. He has thrown for 1,803 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Nix has been a big reason for the success of Denver this year and he will try to keep avoiding turnovers to get his team another win here.
Houston is led by CJ Stroud on offense. He has thrown for 1,623 yards, 11 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Stroud is starting to turn things around this season and this game is a great test for him and the rest of the Texans as they search for their fourth win in five games.
The Broncos' five-game winning streak could be in jeopardy this week. I'll take the Texans to get the win on their home turf in this contest, as their defense should shut down another opponent in Houston after they clamped down on the offense of the 49ers last week.
