The Washington Commanders conclude their 2025 campaign when they travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field. Philadelphia enters the game as a heavy favorite with playoff positioning on the line. Here, I break down this matchup in the NFC East and give you my Commanders vs Eagles prediction on Sunday.

The Eagles secured the NFC East title with a Week 16 win over Washington, thanks largely to the ground game led by Saquon Barkley. Philadelphia knows a victory here would give them a chance to move up to second place in the NFC playoffs, though they would also need help from the Detroit Lions against the Chicago Bears for that to happen.
Washington enters this game with uncertainties at quarterback and a roster depleted by injury. Marcus Mariota has lingering questions about his availability, and if he cannot play, the Commanders would be relying on veteran Josh Johnson under center again. The Commanders have lost two games in a row going into Week 18 and only the Arizona Cardinals have a worse point differential in the NFC this season.
Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts has rebounded from earlier inconsistency, guiding an offense that mixes passing and rushing effectively to remain competitive. Hurts ranks among the league’s higher-volume passers with over 3,200 yards and he does a ton of work on the ground as well.
Washington’s quarterback situation is more tenuous. Jayden Daniels is out for the season with elbow issues, and Marcus Mariota is questionable due to multiple injuries to his throwing hand and quad. If Mariota can’t go, Josh Johnson would make another start, which would be bad news for the Commanders entering Week 18.
I'm going to lay the points with the Eagles in Week 18 against the Commanders. Washington's quarterback situation is a mess and the Eagles have something to play for here. Bettors may want to wait until it is confirmed that the Eagles will be playing all of their starters, but I like Philly to win big if they do play.
